When I paint or create my collages, I build layers of color, lines, subplots and twists which culminate in a final, simpler story. As I worked on piecing together this dispatch, I realized that the audio process mirrored my visual one. The piece gradually came into view as I cut and pasted my pre-recorded sounds, interviews and ramblings. As is the case with my visual pieces, the story is important; but not as vital as the whispers, sighs, laughter and conversations which led to it.
