Improvised by sitar player Nafees Ahmed, For a few rupees more was originally intended as a video installation that relocated and extended the twenty minute opening sequence of Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in the West. Dawood’s resulting soundtrack ‘cut up’ various Ennio Morricone composed fragments of the westerns of Sergio Leone to form a new 40 minute audio work. The artist’s arrange- ment was then improvised by Ahmed for a solo sitar.
